What Is WHOA!BEAM?

WHOA!BEAM is a fairly compact, fairly lightweight, high-performance LED lighting system. It's designed to be flexible to use, so it works equally well as a work light, a task light, and even an area light. On the bottom, there's a threaded hole that happens to be compatible with DIN 4503/ISO 1222 standard camera mounts, so you can mount WHOA!BEAM onto a tripod for a quick to set up, easy to use, and easy to break down lighting system.

To get more technical, WHOA!BEAM uses four latest-generation Cree XM-L LEDs, with a total output of over 3,000 lumens, depending on the color temperature of the LEDs used. (We offer three color temps as well as a fourth option for photography and film applications, which uses all three color temps.) The total power consumption is just a bit over 40 watts. Yep, you read that right: you get the output of a four-foot fluorescent tube for the same amount of power, with no mercury, no glass, no fragile easy-to-break bulb.

WHOA!BEAM is also available with three beam angles. The narrow beam option slings light down the way at the expense of reduced coverage up close. The wide beam is ideal for area lighting up-close. The medium beam is a good blend of the two - more throw and not as much width.
